It is normal to have nothing on junes and julys with rare exceptions.

I have a feeling before the season is over we'll be asking for a break in the action! :-) The first person that posts a "the season is a dud" post will get smacked on the head with a hammer ;-)

I guess we will just have to wait. Six days is all. Then another six days and on and on........... I feel sure there will be some action. The question is how soon. The waiting is the hardest. At some point though we will be asking how long to landfall. LOL Happy tracking!

This season is the biggest dud ever! Even worse than '97!

Can't we have just one storm before the season ends?

*runs as fast as he can to avoid the hammer*

I remember reading something on the BBC that some weather researchers believe that as our world climate heats up, hurricanes, typhoons and cyclones may diminish because of increased shear/ higher winds, and so on, that will tear them apart before they can do much. Does anyone know any more of this theory?
Well, it's something to talk about since the weather is so deadly dull.

Southern Oscillation

#18 Postby stormcloud » Fri Jun 18, 2004 11:46 am

Any thoughts on the extremely low Southern Oscillation (now -36.00) and the affect on any tropical development?

Welcome to the board Stormelf..:)

I haven't read anything about the theory but it could be plausable...I would tend to think the more winds..the bigger/stronger the storms because like now... things will eventually organize...less but worse is possible i reckon.. 8-)

Welcome to the board Dark Knight.. :D

Welcome as well stormcloud.. :D

I don't think it will have much affect at all..neutral for the next 3 months.. mean it'a will be kinda late to affect prime time of season.. 8-)
