No cake walk...

#1 Postby Anonymous » Sat Jun 19, 2004 3:35 pm

Some people may have the impression that Dianmu is weakening and will be a cake walk for Japan. Well, it is NO CAKE WALK. Dianmu is still a major typhoon, category 3 with 105 kt or 120 mph winds. It is very large. Remember how we all thought Floyd and Isabel would not be as bad as first thought because thewy were category 2's, and they caused massive damage... THEY WERE LARGE. As is Typhoon Dianmu. In any case, watch out japan, Typhoon Dianmu is headed your way.

Agreed. It is rapidly weakening, but it still may cause some heavy rain.

Well, right now, it's down to 90 knots or Category 2, and weakening. With each forecast, it gets weaker at landfall. It won't be a cake walk, for sure, but it wont be "typhoon" Dianmu at landfall either. They will have strong winds and some heavy rains, but I'm sure that they have been through enough tropical storms to be ready for this.
