Interresting--I did not know a cane in the caribbean could cause dangerous conditions way up the coast--I generally thought when the cane was offshore of you was when the surf went up... Wavewatch has been around for a while but I generally dont look at it. Sounds like the NWS is using it as a tool now--should check it out more 8-)
