Chad that upper low just NE of PR has to go and troughiness TUTT to fade there to then have a clean road for 95 and more behind. That caribbean area is another wave but the proximity to land inhibits development chances but hey MJO has spilled into the atlantic and anything can happen from now on so the boring times are over !!! :) .

Unless I read discussions incorrectly this am the convection closest to the CA coast isn't really associated with the wave which is to the East of that convection. Discussion said it was difficult to tie a lot of the cloudiness and storms to the actual wave, but didn't really discuss where that was coming from, or at least that I saw. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong-I do the updates EARLY in the morning shortly after falling out of bed.

Well, if the TPC/NHC is correct with their predictions that this will be an above-average season, then I'm not all that surprised to see 95L at all. What scares me is the train behind it. Wooowoooooooo!

 Those are some impressive looking storms out there, organized or not. I have a feeling we won't be bored much longer.

I'm not sure that's a good thing.

Welcome to s2k colleen!

I have to agree with ya, I dont think we are going to be bored for much longer and... I think its a good thing... as long as its busy AWAY from land masses (dont beat me over the head... I love fish storms, cool to watch and you pretty much know they are harmless to folks) ;)

Colleen, you got that right!! Looks like things will become much less boring sooner than later. It is a good thing that helps make life more interesting and challenges our meteorological skills but at the same time we want to see no harm come to anyone!!! Darn I wish there was a way to have a VIRTUAL CAT5 landfall.

Caribbean Convection

#9 Postby alicia-w » Tue Jul 06, 2004 1:50 pm

Okay guys and gals, let's see what we can do to hold these things off for a while. I'm supposed to have heart surgery sometime soon and not looking forward to any undue excitement!

Prayers going up for you now, Alicia. Check back with us and let us know how it's going. :)

I can remember hearing that song "Africa" by Toto and wondering what the heck was so special about "the rains down in Africa." Thanks to all this hurricane watching, I suppose I know have something of a clue. :)

LOL GD.. Now the song is going to be stuck in my head all day..

So the convection we see in the Sw carib is not associated with the wave that is to efffect Texas? Where is the wave located that they are picking up on then?

That wave is draped across the Central Caribbean from between the Bahamas and Cuba to the Columbian coast. It is not into the SW Caribbean area yet.
