There is still a weak spin just north of the Yucatan.

Call me blind, but I just dont see it. Looks like a lot of clouds and the typical July weather on the Gulf to me.

There's no weak spin north of the Yuk...just a bunch of outflow boundries

Look closely NW of the Yucatan tip. It's not much but
it's barely there.

whether there is a slight spin, pressures in the gulf are still high and not falling, and the clouds and showers are lined up as a ne/sw trough, so all in all nothing now except to keep eye on. :roll:

The outflow boundries are playing tricks on your eyes. Add to that the fact that the winds are higher over water than they are over land...and frictional backing of the winds...but there is no circulation. A circulation implies closed consistant rotation. Anything else is just an illusion or an eddy or some sort.
