AccuWeather's Tropical Discussion Mentions a Good "LLC&

#1 Postby HURAKAN » Mon Jul 19, 2004 10:26 pm

Today's Discussion
POSTED: July 19, 2004 10:50 p.m.

A strong tropical wave is located near 57 west, and some thunderstorms ahead of the wave are moving into the Windward islands of the Caribbean. This wave has a good low-level circulation, and will be watched closely for further development over the next couple of days as it moves through the Caribbean Sea. There is a chance that this system will become the first Atlantic tropical depression of season sometime Tuesday or Wednesday as it heads toward the west or northwest over the Caribbean.

They may be wrong by a few thousand feets.

30% chance of a depression, 10% of a TS. Wait till after August 1st for hurricane season to start. Finally busted the drought in Sofla.

system is being affected by some shear esp. on northern end of wave, however it has slowed a little to 20-25 mph, and in last sat images a blow up of convection is firing right in the center. Whether this will last is anyone's guess. I believe it is maintaining itself considering some obstacles. Still believe it will take to the w. carib to see td or stronger.
