Yes Florida got it hard today while Alex got its act together..... inflow into the system today was VERY impressive....

Also that helped to feed some moisture into the gulf....

Id watch north of Cuba and north of the yucatan and see what these clusters of thunderstorms do over the next hours and days

Absolutely SC16. I wouldn't be surprised to see something generated in the GOM.

Neither would i, however i would like to see some persistance with either one of these areas of convection before i go ahead and get too concerned about it
