1006 MB closed wall

#1 Postby WXBUFFJIM » Mon Aug 09, 2004 5:59 pm

Good evening everyone. Just got the latest vortex message from the recon. The center is now closed. Pressure is 1006 mb or 29.71 inches. Estimated surface winds are 55 knots, but flight level wind is 53 knots. This would still equate to alittle over a 40 knot tropical storm at this point. The potential does exist for this thing to rapidly intensify as we head onto the next few hours as Bonnie encounters a more favorable wind field upstairs.

Thanks, Jim. Sounds like she's winding up. Doesn't look that impressive yet on radar, but she must be fierce.
