TX Coast blob -- just a blob, right?

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

TX Coast blob -- just a blob, right?

I remember the earlier posts about how the cold front could actually be bad news for us here and how a low could develop in the Gulf because of it. So, I'm just wondering about what's out there off the TX coast. Someone reassure my little amateur weather-watching eyes and tell me it's just blobbage. :)

Thanks GalvestonDuck -- you asked the exact question that has been on my mind as I watched that "little blob" get progressively bigger the last couple of hours--- love to hear from someone in the know!

Well, my amateur eyes don't think it's anything to worry about. I think it'll get drawn into Bonnie but let someone better qualified answer. :)

I am far from being a professional on this topic, but I thought that we (that is Texas and Louisiana) were in the "all clear" of all this due to the approaching front. Gut feeling - nothing to be concerned about.

I figured that Bonnie sucking it up was probably the most likely scenario

Yeah, we're in the all clear in regards to Bonnie and Charley. But this post http://www.storm2k.org/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=35517 taught me something I wasn't aware of. :)

to answer your question GD we are definitely in the clear with Bonnie and Charley(though I never say never). What you are seeing is a flare up of convection at the tail end of the stalling front. If it did develop into anything it would move in a NE direction as well along the frontal boundary. I always watch these things, but am not currently concerned about what I am seeing in the W GOM at this time.
