Eyewall and Eye Geogrpahic Map Details for Cuba

#1 Postby Cyclone Runner » Thu Aug 12, 2004 11:10 pm

The eye of the storm is just passing over the small island chains of Cayeria las Cayamas and Cayos los Guzmanes. The eye will soon be onshore in in Habana Province between the towns of Playa de Cajio and Playa Guanimar. It will then likely pass over the town of Guira de Malena, Alquisar and Artemisa. Then it will pass over the town of Guanajay and the over Mariel and back out to sea. The eastern part of the eye will likely skirt the western part of Habana City (Havana) including the Airport.

On the current trajectory, the eyewall will pass over an area from the Eastern part of Pinar del Rio Province across the whole of Habana Province and Habana City (Havana) and the Western part of Matanzas Province. This is the most densely populated parts of Cuba with nearly 2.5 million people.
