Charley came through here about 9:PM. I live in a manufactured home in Kissimmee and went to stay with a friend. All I can say is when the storm came though even in a concrete block house you could feel the walls trembling. It was very scary..... I can't imagine the people in Punta Gorda and Port Charlotte... my heart goes out to them.
We ventured out this morning to check on my home. There are downed trees, downed signage, roofs ripped up, sidings ripped off building, collapsed buildings, etc. and we saw all this in a matter of five or six miles. When we got to my house I was one of the lucky ones with little damage. I lost my car port, some siding. The guy across the street lost half his house and the debree was everywhere. Three roads were impassable in my community because of downed trees.
This is my third time going through a hurricane and the most scary. There is no power, phones, etc in most or Orange and Osceola County and Cellular service is terrible.
Thats my story for now..... Hope that gives some insight.... Oh Charley was clocked about 104 coming through....
If anyone living in a manufactured home reads this,,, remember, if your asked to evacuate pack your bags and get out. Everything you have can be replaced but your life can't....
Charley, Osceola County, Orange County
