Low South of Bermuda

Before the outage of GOES-E, there appeared to be a well-developed mid/upper level circulation near 30N, 64W, or just SSE of Bermuda. It's difficult to determine whether this vortex is at the surface, but low-level Cu are generally moving in a cyclonic manner and deep convection has maintained itself in this location for much of the last 24 hours. Once the trough just to the north of the system gets out of the way, the building ridge should send it on a westward path. For the time being it is slowly moving to the S, over warmer waters and lower shear. I would look for a mention by the NHC in the next 24 hours, especially if the current upswing in convection continues.

Also of note is the deep convection and convergence in the SW Caribbean. This area is close to land, but appears to be moving slowly to the north. It looks like the high rate of activity in the Pacific is finally spreading into the Atlantic Basin! Should be an interesting couple of weeks.
