Gulf Convection & Development?
Are we expecting the area of disturbed weather in the Gulf to organize at some point?

Yeah, I was posting on this earlier. Eta and some other mesoscale models have been developing a surface low over the central or northern Gulf. The trough in the central part of the country should become increasingly positively tilted, and the southern part should pinch off into a closed ULL somewhere over TX or the western Gulf. That, and a jet to the north, which will place the Gulf in the RRQ of the jet, may aid in upper level divergence. Also, there is an old front in the Gulf now, and a new one which will only act to enhance convergence here. It will be a slow process, but I fully believe a surface low will develop in a couple of days. A lot of other things have to happen to get it into a barotropic/tropical system, but it seems possible.

Wouldn't that be something, remember we had Bonnie and then Charley coming in behind. If we had another TC develop and then Frances move into the Gulf it will be a strange season indeed!
And didn't we have Alex form off the GA. coast and ride up northward off the Carolina coast just a week or so before??
I'm starting to see a pattern here!!!
