i have no illusions about the damage and human loss that will be suffered over this weekend due to frances, but at least we can find a bright spot in that it is labor day weekend, where many companies extend the holiday weekend to include a day off on friday, as well as sat/sun/mon. hopefully this will further incourage coastal florida residents to evacuate when told and hopefully this exodus will begin thursday afternoon and evening.
lets face it, beginning friday morning/early afternoon is cutting it way too close, especially if she picks up speed on thursday. with the lessons learned from charley just a few weeks behind, hurricane frances has the potential to show how a 21st century america can handle a traumatic weather event to the very best of its abilities. over the next 48-60 hours, the nation will be watching closely. for those the cone, it is no longer time to plan, it's time to put your plan into motion. good luck to all.
optimistic thoughts and more on frances
