Animal behavior
The animals are behaving different. We normally have lots of birds and squirrels but only 1 or 2 the last day and a half. Went to help a friend board his house today and the horses in the neighboring were really on edge. They know something is up. Pay attention to the animals, they understand weather.

Here in NC, I always know a hurricane is really going to hit when the snakes start heading for higher ground. That is always a bad sign. My cats don't usually get nervous until the storm is actually starting, but our horse is usually jumpy the day before. I've heard other people mention seeing the snakes (and rats) heading for higher ground.

Interesting that you should mention ants. Lately, we've been having that same type of ant all over the place in my house (especially the kitchen and bathroom). We can't leave any food out without them sniffing it out and eating to their hearts' content.
The connection? We have a potential hurricane headed our way too.
