It's hard to say...it depends on where the surge is going to be present and at what point in the tidal cycle you do get the surge. It also wouldn't hurt to know what your mean high and mean low tides are, as well as the tide range for your specific area. This info is located on your nautical chart...
Keep in mind when the local news gives you times for low and high tide, make sure it's CORRECTED for your specific area. Case in point, low tide up the creek will occur later than in areas closer to the ocean's tidal influence.
Is your boat out back??!!?? That could be ugly...

Don't know why I didn't mention it the first time...
Try calling the local Coast Guard Group...I'm guessing Group Mayort?? IF they not pulling their hair out at this point in the game...they may be able to give some info you're looking for.
Keep in mind those guys are probably up to their necks right now since we're typically some of the last to leave, so please be patient.

Nope no evacs here, not enen the barrier islands... at least not the last time I checked. We have not boarded up. With the weakning and the westward movement now the winds are in the upper 40's. You guys are not on the nice side of this thing!
