Has the National Hurricane Center been on target?

#1 Postby RonStallcup » Fri Sep 03, 2004 6:46 pm

So far, has the Nation Hurricane Center been correct in forecasting Frances?

I remember reading, on another post,
the NHC has only been off by 173 miles.
There own margin of error is 250-300 miles.

Is this true?

The Hurricane models are driving people nuts.

It's almost like anyone can open a map in Photoshop, draw a line,
post it on the Web, and panic a whole city.

Thanks for your response.

Excellent point Ron. And so very true. I think all these models are affecting the panic level we all feel.

NHC's forecast track verified much better than many of the tracks further to the left I've seen here the past few days.
