After outlining the track for Ivan over the coming days...he noted a big fact.
To paraphrase...he noted that if you think we can't have a year where we have 3 FL landfalls...think again. In 1964 we had 3 category 2 hurricanes strike the state.
Before anyone runs with this...note he said it can happen...not that it will.

Mike, a real concern re: Ivan is its forward speed. Floridians will still be dealing with the aftermanth(s) of Frances and/or Charley on Wednesday or Thursday and may by that time already be under the gun of the NHC'S three day "cone" showing Ivan's approach. Your earlier post on evacuation problems is just one of the many issues--how in the world does will our state's already overstretched capabilities handle another oncoming major hurricane with so little lead time to prepare?

Scogor - that's a good question. I heard on the radio earlier today that Gov. Bush is probably going to have call a special session in Nov. for the state legislature to discuss the budget concerns/issues brought on by these storms. I can't even imagine. Also, what impact is this going to have on insurance here in FL....the possibilities are terrifying!
