There's good news and there's bad news...

#1 Postby abajan » Mon Sep 06, 2004 4:45 am

Well, as far as Barbados is concerned, there's good news and there's bad news:

Good news: It's weakened :)

Good news: It's moving slightly faster so it'll all be over quicker :)

Bad news: Since it's moving faster, it'll be here sooner than previously expected and there's less time to prepare for it :(

More bad news: Since it's moving faster and passing to the south, that forward speed needs to be added to whatever the winds it will have when it passes here :(

More bad news: It's expected to re-intensify before reaching here :(

More bad news: It's wind radii (both TS force and hurricane force winds) extend further out than before :(

Heck, I need more good news! :x

God go with you Abajan. By the way, AccuWeather meteorologist, Joe Bastardi, once wrote that adding forward speed to the wind speed is not true.

I'm hoping that Ivan stays as disorganized as he looks this morning. You're in my thoughts and prayers abajan!

Thanks a million, everyone!

BTW CourierPR, I keep getting different answers about this business of adding the forward speed of a system to its winds. Anyone knows if you add it on or not???

Our thoughts are with you and the other residents of Barbados. We visited there over 10 years ago and loved it! Everyone was friendly and we had some phenomenal dining experiences. Stay safe!!
