We are still getting steady 34-40mph winds, with gusts likely near or just above 50mph. The forcasr decrease in winds is very slow in coming!
I live on the west bank of the St. Johns River, just west of Downtown Jax. Now that the wind has shifted away from the north more towards E, the ESE, this AM, the river is easily pounding above the seawall, causing minor street flooding here. We are still near low tide, so if this keeps up, we will be glad our building is sandbagged.
Looks like we will still have many more hours of rainbands crossing our area. Perhaps they will not be quite as strong as the ones that were coming in offshore via the Atlantic. But, alsa, we are still getting those.

Looks like more bad news---Tornado watch was just extended till 8pm including the Jax area--By 8pm, we will have been in a tornado watch 48 consecutive hours.

COASTAL WATERS
EFFECTIVE THIS MONDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING FROM 120 PM UNTIL 800
PM EDT.
TORNADOES...HAIL TO 0.5 INCH IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS
TO 60 MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS.
THE TORNADO WATCH AREA IS ALONG AND 95 STATUTE MILES EAST AND WEST
OF A LINE FROM 70 MILES NORTH OF CROSS CITY FLORIDA TO 30 MILES
SOUTH OF AVON PARK FLORIDA.
