IVAN IS already at almost the same pressure as OPAL (95)

#1 Postby South Tampa » Tue Sep 07, 2004 6:09 pm

I went through Opal in Destin in 1995 and I just noticed that Ivan even though he is down by Tobago is 950 MB. That is what OPAL had at landfall.
It is also the almost exact pressure as when Andrew went to cat 3 Status. To surmise We are looking at a Monster cane IMO. We have a lower pressure than Andrew and Opal had at cat 2 strength. They were at cat three strength when there pressure were that low. Of course Andrew and Opal's MB got lower this is just a comparison. For a benchmark comparison of the real badgirl Camille was 909MB at 190MPH.

I'll take ... "Ivan doesn't get as strong as Andrew" .. as verified by the central pressure.
