It's just a Canes Thing..." Embrace.. or go North .. Your choice..." I live in this great state of Fl. and I love it..Bring it on Ivan .. No fear here

yeah ok....ever been without power for weeks in 95 degree heat...I have in 83 with Alicia....you go ahead and wish/pray away....

well apparently flyingphish is confident :)
thats not always a bad thing....just dont forget all the people whos lives have been greatly altered by these storms (not saying you have forgot...we just got to alwys remember that..)

I think what flyingphish is saying is that he knows hurricanes are a fact of life when living in florida, and as such doesn't fear them, and if you can't handle the threat of them and the resulting inconvenience when they hit, you should pack up and move north/inland.
I sort of feel the same way. I'm a native Floridian, my family has lived here since the 1800's. Hurricanes are a fact of life here. While I don't wish them on anyone (myself included), they DO happen.
