Power was restored 30 minutes ago. Now I see we've got a Cat 5

headed this way! The Cat 2 was practice I guess.

Yankee... on this track, the current landfall is perhaps even more dangerous for the east coast of FL in that it puts the most heavily populated areas of the FL East coast in the NE quad of the storm.

Yeah, you just saw the one who wouldn't come, and then once it was there, wouldn't leave. May someone up above have mercy on us and at least get Ivan in and out of here in a big fat jiffy.

it isnt likely to stay Cat 5 if it hits FLorida, but a strong Cat 3 or 4 is certainly possible.

Stop the whining! I'm still without power in Palm Bay, and not expected to get it for another week! It was 91 degrees yesterday and cooled off to 81 outside last night. Big question I would like to get answered is whther or not the DSHP forecast of 25 knots for Ivan is due to interaction with mountainous region of Cuba???

At this rate no one in Florida is going to know where to evacuate to, if need be!

Probably best to make alternative plans depending on where it ends up going ... I'm making hotel reservations in different places, only cost $25 to cancel them.
