The likelihood of that occurring now as about as likely as me winning Powerball tonight ... and I forgot to buy tickets ...

Destin, and my reason is that Ivan doesn't like land and will skirt the coast a little.

The western edge of the eyewall is going to go right down Mobile Bay. Very sad for Mobile.

Beyond extensive damage. Good chance Santa Rosa Island gets a new cut or two. Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, Perdido Key, Pensacola Beach all will suffer. Only concrete building along the shore will survive. It will be years to recover, with billions in damages......MGC

I feel very, very badly for Destin.

Twenty-foot storm surge, with 40-foot waves on top of that....................the beach will be gone and so will many buildings there.

What a terrible hurricane. This had better be the last one, we've had enough.

It's been 19 years since we've seen a season with this much in the way of landfalling TC's and hurricanes in terms of overall severity (not from just one storm) ...

This season will likely be known as the most destructive as a season.

Should Ivan hold steady, not only will Ivan be the 2nd major to strike U.S. soil this year, but the SECOND CAT 4 of the 2004 season ...

Since 1969 and before 2004 ... only Camille (1969), Hugo (1989), and Andrew (1992) ... have struck the U.S. with intensities of CAT 4 or greater ...

2004 ... Charley and likely Ivan ... both of CAT 4 status ...

My grandma is going to win it. She's been playing for years. She deserves it!
