Reporters, Mayfield, roundup from Fox News Channel 12:01 EDT

#1 Postby anjou » Wed Sep 15, 2004 11:02 pm

max mayfield on fox news channel:
Up to 15 feet (storm surge?) at north end of mobile bay possible?
big winds expected 100-150 miles inland enough to down trees and cause power outages

rain amounts 10-15" over next day or two as moves toward inland and gets to appalachians could be real problem 'with real significant flooding'

... Slice and dice as you see fit.... this is just what I heard.

Reporter Rick Leventhal near lake ponchatrain (infernally spelled) near New Orleans (which largely dodged a bullet)... a small building was nearly submerged.. he's on a levee (possibly also badly spelt).

About 1200 people in the Lousiana SuperDome used as a shelter... only one report o' looting in da big easy. So far.

Jeff Goldblatt in Panama City... 2 confirmed deaths from different tornadoes - 5 tornadoes confirmed. Woman in 80s died after waterspout hit her mobile home - she was found 75 feet from home... another guy, an elderly man, couldn't get out of another building that got hit but his son dodged into another room.

Seeing wave action, conditions gone downhill over last few hours (of course).

Adam Housely in Pensacola: oops, went to black... oops, back with a picture now... more than 200k from Pensacola to Jeff Goldblatt are without power.
