Thoughts on Lisa and the one behind her ...

#1 Postby x-y-no » Tue Sep 21, 2004 11:45 am

First of all, I can't resist pointing out that I nailed Karl's recurvature before 50W several days out, at a time when the globals were taking him 5 to 10 degrees further west. :-)

Lisa will continue west to just north of west for the next three days, I think. The slightly south of west movement I thought might happen as part of Karl's influence never materialized and won't now. In a few days, a trough will weaken the ridge enough to move her WNW for a while, but won't catch her. One wild-card is the system behind, which is pretty close. If it develops faster than I expect, that could change the environment enough to move her a little more northerly.

Long-term, I still think she's a threat to the leeward islands ut probably not CONUS, and the one behind her gets into the Carribean.
