Shouldn't the fujiwara effect come into play at some point.... or are they still too far apart for that?

What's the chance of that developing system behind Lisa swallowing her up so that she becomes a part of the larger system? I believe that they are both moving west but soes anyone know at what speed? I vaguely remember several yrears ago when some similar pattern played out. Thanks for the info.

The system behind Lisa has a t number of 2.0/2.0. It is showing it has a pretty well defined cirulation. There is no reason why tropical depression 14 will not be here at 5pm. This system could very well do one of two things.

1# The models show it moving westnorthwest for the next 24 or so hours. Then the ukmet in a good part of the hurricane models show this system going northwest. If so it could pull the smaller lisa down to the southwest or westsouthwest.

2# When it moves north it could eat Lisa for breakfast.

The inflow in the southern Quad of the system is good at this hour. The Gfdl also takes this system to the northwest. It takes it up to a Mj hurricane. So I expect this to be a depression at 5pm. In I expect it to have my name!
