I must be losing my mind.

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

I must be losing my mind.

#1 Postby fuzzy » Thu Sep 23, 2004 12:23 pm

This is the fourth time in five weeks I've feared for my home. You'll forgive me if I've become a little slaphappy...

Four Storms of Florida
(with apologies to the three wise men)

We three Storms of Florida are
Bearing rain, we traversed afar
Winds, destruction, meanness, gumption;
Ivan, Frances and Char…leeeeeeeey;

(oh no! It’s…)

Storm of wonder, storm of might
Storm confounding mets all night
Westward leading, still proceeding
Jeanne is the next big fight.

Plywood comes out of the garage
We rub our eyes- is this a mirage?
Drills and screws, we weekly use—
Year of the ‘Cane Montage.

Ohhhhh….

Gasoline and Tuna Stacked;
Florida is being Attacked.
Westward leading, still proceeding;
Our lives have been hijacked.

Trapped at work, but checking the news
Singing loud the Hurricane Blues
Let me go, although I know
There’s not that much we can do

Buuuutt….

Stand in line and buy more stuff
Worry if we have enough
Water for flushin’, folks are rushin’
Hither and yon—it’s rough!

We refuse to tremble and flail
‘Canes can kiss our proffered tail.
We will hunker in our bunkers;
We’ll survive; they shall fail!

of course you can share it. I'm certainly not going to be defending my copyright on this one.

Anyone want to add a stanza or two?

That was simply awesome!! After my hour long wait in line at the grocery store (yes I did say HOUR) I definitely needed a laugh and that was perfect! Thanks for sharing. :D

Wow, people are taking it seriously eh? Good. Was this at the grocery or Walmart? I know the gas stations are already backing up as well here.
