Of the year, for all of Florida? Are we talking about number of hits or amount of damage? I think that if we were to base it solely upon "tonnage" of destruction, it'd have to be Escambia County.

hmmm, Volusia got whacked a lot worse than expected by both Charley and esp. Frances.
If we get Jeanne, the same way the NHC has tracked right now..I'd vote Volusia.
If we get Jeanne the way Derek Orrt and Cangialosi has tracked, I'd lean toward Polk (but population-wise, it may go to Volusia or Palm Beach/Martin)
But the massive damage from Ivan gives Pensacola the current "blue ribbon".

Eric, where are ya in PSL and what are your plans for Jeanne? We're on the outskirts of St Lucie West, and we're riding it out in our home (built in 2002). We didn't get a generator this last go-round with Frances, and I shudder at the thought of another 2-3 weeks without power. Actually, I shudder at a lot of thoughts involved with this season.

I think only coastal counties should qualify. Can't compare the damage suffered by a coastal county to that of an interior county, winds aren't near as strong.
