A caution here is that this are sat estimates and the NHC may not follow this data but recon is flying now so based on their data is what at 11 AM the nhc will decide if it is a cat 3 or cat 4 a scary thing anyway you put it. :eek:

I can bet all I have that this is not a category 4 at this time.

The eye is ragged and until that eye becomes clear and round, there's no category 4 hurricane.

I can tell you that it could very well be a category 3 storm as I type...

Ivan didnt have a perfect eye at Cat 4 either... IMO it looks like its bombing, all the convection is starting to wrap around.

I also disagree on Cat 4...it looks like a medium Cat 3, about 120 mph right now.

Whatever the NHC do at 11 AM classifying it as a cat 3 or cat 4 sadly the sure thing is that it will be more than a cat 2 105 mph.
