As a parent, I think it would be irresponsible for the county not to close the schools. Who knows what will happen by time schools start. We lost power 1 hr ago and my son's school has no power either. 10hrs for Ivan and 11 for Frances. I don't expect power until sometime monday.

I dunno..
Down here at the coast (Shell Point), it's pretty windy and moderately rainy. I hope it chills down by tomorrow morning; I would hate to have to drive in this to class. We're definitely getting TS gusts.

Right now in Tallahassee at 27 and I-10 it's raining moderately, seeing strong gusts for most of the day so far. Nothing major, but when I was on the road I had a couple gusts where my car was literally being blown off the road.
Far and few, but I still dont want to have to drive in that weather unless I have too :-\

This am, we are without power, but thanks to phone and laptop, I am online. I am in the Blairstone/Appalachee Pwy area.
Power has been off since before 1am...but after 11:30pm, when I dozed off. At 1am, it was very gusty and windy. According to the my cast on my cell phone, the "eye" area was just about an hour away from us at that point.
Now, it's breezy, not terribly rainy, just a misty annoying rain. Garbage trucks have been by already.
All city, county and state offices as well as colleges are open. All schools and daycares are closed. LOL not sure how many will actually make it in to work, since there is no place to leave the kiddies
DH and I are swapping out the kids today so we'll both be able to go in for at least half a day.
All in all, Tallahassee has been extrememly lucky. We've dodged the bullet several times this year. I wish I could say the same for the rest of the state

We lost power at 9:50pm last night in Killearn Acres and it came back on 30 minutes ago. Now my office is without power off Kerry Forest. I was to be flying out this morning which got rescheduled to later today but now the weather is affecting other flights and I'm getting cancelled again.
