For those that have them, what are the best home/personal weather stations for a moderate weather enthusiast? What are the key features to look for? Price ranges? I see them in catalogs and in stores all of the time now.
Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Davis VantagePro Plus is probably the best, but it is pricey. You can get other brands for less that "do the job". A lot depends on the bells and whistles you want, wired vs wireless, amount and type of data collected, whether you want to connect and publish it to the web or just your pc, etc. I's still looking too.

There are some nice weather station comparisons as well as linked weather stations available at http://www.weathermatrix.com
Just click the WX STATIONS link on the left of the page.

My weather station is an Oregon Scientific brand. It is a wireless system and "does the job" without a lot of bells and whistles. It has the self empting rain guage and the wind guage on my roof. I really enjoyed it during the storms. The model I have keeps history as well as the current stats. Mine was under $200. I didn't know anything about which to buy when I started looking, but this one works for me.
