I haven't gone through all of them yet but the devastation is unbelievable. Oh how I feel for everyone affected. I saw people walking through nothing but rubble searching for some of their belongings after their home was literally ripped to pieces. It is so sad, there really aren't words to express it...

After seeing these photos you can only wonder when someone says they'd like to go through a hurricane. I went to Pensacola on deployment after Ivan. It's all to real. You can see it, you can smell it, you can feel it. This has been the year of misery for many of us. So many years of good luck all run out in a few short months. You want a hurricane? Look at these pictures and learn from them. You want to feel the wind on your face, the rush of things moving by you fast? Try skydiving it's safer than being in a hurricane.

These pictures show everything we have been talking about from this area since Ivan.
No way that Hurricane was a CAT 2 like some people on here incredibly believe. That thing was AT LEAST a strong CAT 3.
Ivan did more damage than I even imagined!!! The recovery is going well but Ivan's mark is still seen all over the place. Many people right now don't have homes.
People around here who went through Camille have compared this to the damage of Hurricane Camille in 1969. The winds weren't quite as strong (still deadly) as Camille-but that Surge Ivan had makes you wonder.

We went to Seaside/Seacrest/Rosemary Beach for our Sunday drive and lunch at Luna Del Mar and the pictures just dont do any justice. You have to see the beach erosion and resulting damage for yourself. Seaside and Rosemary Beach are quite some distance east and there is a lot of beach damage there. Dean had some excellent photos of damage along old 98 but seeing it firsthand just takes your breath away.
