GOM disturbance...

I think we are all in agreement that this is likely turning out to be a Tropical Depression, the main question now is whether NHC will classify it as one at 11 AM or 5 PM.

I think it will be atleast a TD at 11 and possibly a mininal TS at landfall. The NHC needs to hurry up with their coffee this morning and let the public know something soon.

I agree, I thought last night it would be classified but the only thing holding it back was no strong winds. This am is a different story, buoy reports in west and even central gulf are approacing ts force. In general 35 to 40 mph.

Good chance for a TD at 11am. Convection is very very strong, a sufrace circulation(maybe weak one) is present on satellite.
