Tropical Storm Lester is downgraded

Recon flew this afternoon to see how strong Lester would be in the Mexican coast at Acapulco but they didn't find winds of tropical storm force.

2 PM PDT WED OCT 13 2004

DATA FROM THE HURRICANE HUNTERS SHOW THAT LESTER HAS DEGENERATED
INTO A TROUGH ON THE NORTHEAST SIDE OF A BROAD LOW PRESSURE
AREA...AND IS THEREFORE DISSIPATING.  THE REMNANTS OF THIS TROPICAL
CYCLONE COULD GENERATE SOME MORE HEAVY RAINS OVER PORTIONS OF THE
SOUTHERN COAST OF MEXICO OVER THE NEXT DAY OR SO.

THIS IS THE LAST ADVISORY ON LESTER FROM THE NATIONAL HURRICANE
CENTER.

Why this year has all the east pacific storms weaken in a blank of an eye? I mean almost every system that formed this year in that basin has done this.

I suppose that there is little to no chance of it regenerating?

Either that or they exploded up to major storms (Howard and Javier).
