CDC has a good link for the monthly indices from 1948 to present.

Here's a good one that has just about every index under the sun (including QBO)...some of them are updated more than others but most of the sparce statistical analysis I have done started with the data from this page...

Bingo! Certainly does look like it should be Easterly or Negative in 2005 for the most part.

Correct, Paul...

On my preliminary outlook thread where the writeup is on my website, I thoroughly believe that the QBO index by AUG 2005 will either equal or be less than -15.17 (5 other years besides 2005 that have seen a switch from a W to an E QBO phase in January)... more details on my website regarding the outlook ...
