"The National Weather Service is not focused on it's core mission of protecting the nation's lives and property," Myers said. "There have been numerous examples in the last year, situations where they have not devoted the resources to that."
Really Rick? Please show me where the NWS has not focused on its
core business? What are the examples? Please elaborate!
I don't care who runs against him, I will send his opponet money in 2006.
People like him are fundamentally wrong, and do not deserve to be
in public office.

I guess they were focusing on pina coladas and beach balls instead.
On a side note - $2,000 for a campaign contribution really isn't the kind of $ that moves politicians to sponsor bills.

I'm sure this issue never crossed their radar until concerned folks started screaming about it. I'm less and less impressed with "journalists" as time goes by.
That slam on the Weather Service was totally uncalled for. And Santorum keeps claiming this is just "restoring the old rules that were changed last year." That's a blatant lie.

Yes, that's true. However, I'm sure if one added up all the contributions coming from folks more or less associated with Accuweather, it's enough to get Santorum's attention.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it the MAXIMUM allowable individual contribution? And they've donated to him time and time again.
I don't care what anyone's political stripes are - Democrat, Republican or Independent like I am. Just make sure you donate to Bob Casey for Senator. Leave your partisanship at the door while showing it to (in)Santorum.

Santorum is an expert fund raiser and will have massive amounts of capital for his 2006 Senate race. In my entire life, I've only ever donated to one candidate - Senator McCain in 2000 before he got savaged by Rove in a desperate attempt to save the Bush candidacy when it was clear that people of all stripes would be willing to support McCain. They said, "oops we're sorry we lied about you" but the damage was done. I never forgave them for that transgression and will never forgive Santorum for coopting the public for his little friends in State College. As promised, they didn't get my monthly contribution of $24.95 so they could turn a portion of it over to Ricky boy.
Oh yeah Steve, tell us how you really feel

I don't know on the federal level. I know the firm I'm with makes contributions several times that amount to *local* level campaigns, i.e., county, regularly and 1,000 - 5,000 from regular joes on that level isn't uncommon at all. That's why I said 2,000 really isn't the kind of $ to move politicians, and on a national level, frankly, it isn't even a drop in a barrel.
