Tropical Depression #04 is on the map.

It's SE of Guam and heading WNW expected to become a hurricane. Future models show a trof over Japan lifting out and being replaced by a ridge which might tend to slow the storm down if it gets trapped or possibly deflect it off toward the west (south of Japan). Many may recall the 2 old Bastardi teleconnections 1) 6-10 day downstream trough/ridging in the eastern US and 2) future potential for storm tracks. The second one isn't that important in June as it is later on in the season. Seasons with numerous hits on Asia usually portend seasons with numerous hits in North America.
