TD 3 Forecast #1: Slow development to Cindy

EXPERIMENTAL HURRICANE FORECAST
TROPICAL DEPRESSION 3
SUN JULY 3RD 2004
1015 PM ET

Tropical Depression #3 formed during the day on Sunday and is currently hugging the coast of the Yucatan, getting ready to cross over before exiting into the BOC.

The depression which has shown signs of nearing tropical storm status, will have to wait it's turn for that as it will cross over land first. This may cause our would be "Cindy" to be whipped a little bit.

As would be Cindy then enters the BOC.. she may have a chance to strengthen as she is due to make a due west to northwest movement through the southern GOM.

Most models point Cindy as a Texas threat. This would also mark that Cindy could be the 1st Texas hurricane since Claudette.

Here are my current 5 day forecasts on would be Cindy:

Tonight: Still a TD.. trying to organize near land. Max Winds: 35 mph
Monday: Near land, crossing over land, no strengthening. Max winds: 35 mph
Tuesday: Center back over water, Warm water to feed. Max Winds: 50 mph
Wednesday: Making the jog northbound.. approaching Texas coast. Max Winds: 60 mph
Thursday: Making landfall somewhere along Texas coast. Max Winds: 65 mph

I am currently not forecasting a hurricane as not enough info has been processed yet for me to come to that conclusion. This may change through the period.
