The following post is NOT an official forecast and should not be used as such. It is just the opinion of the poster and may or may not be backed by sound meteorological data. It is NOT endorsed by any professional institution including storm2k.org For Official Information please refer to the NHC and NWS products.

I know it is a long way off but first if you check the 00z run of the Euro aka ECMWF at 168 hrs you will see it has a 582 dm closed low in the SE Gulf Of Mexico, This is what it believe will become of 97L

Then Via Surface pressure and 850 mb winds

It is showing a very strong system in the gulf of mexico, just the fact that it is lower than 582 decameters is telling as it did not even have arlene but a small area of under 588 dm hieghts.

So if this run is correct watch out gulf of mexico and carribean islands.

It appears based on multiple models, and the building "assumed" synoptics that 97L will pass through the Florida straits as i mentioned previously, and then move into the gulf. However in the gulf it will continue heading wnw - nw thus landfalling it in North-Eastern Coast of TX or South-Western LA.
My reasoning behind this is based on the ridge that has/will build inward across northern/central florida into the panhandle... and extending upward into the states, while tappering off enough near LA that the storm will head more northly. The Jet stream has seceded up into the northern-most states and canada, thus no deep troughs will be around to pick 97L up.
It sure would be bad if TD3 rolls through LA one direction and 97L rolls in form the other direction a few days later.

Here is a link to the loop for the above...

This is all based on it NOT dying as it skims by Hispanola.

Time for sleep... 8-)
