Writing from Houma, I'm at work. A co-worker is from Pont-au-chenes and her family just called, the roof of their house blew off. They are at a neighbor's home. This co-worker said the weather is bad in this area. I live further up the bayou in Bourg and we are without electricity

We are an ambulance company based in New Orleans East and have lost power as of approximately 2215. Employees leaving the office stated that the large transformer near the Seabrook Brige exploded and we lost power almost immediately after. There has also been significant street flooding in this industrial area since earlier this afternoon.

Pretty decent size tree uprooted off Carolyn Drive in Harahan. Looks like mainly tore up a fence, missed the house.

Has been absolutely storming since about 10 p.m. in Hahnville... Shell Oil must have lost power because we're under a nice orange glow from the flare. No flooding where I am though
Just thought I'd post those. They are from people in and around the New Orleans area. Hope this helps for anyone looking for first hand info.

I wonder what kind of building that was that the house that lost their roof was, probably pre-manufacture I'm guessing, I doubt a sturdy house in LA could loose it's roof from simply 70 mph winds, but who knows lol.

He should be fine, The brunt of the storm passed well to his east. His area got between 2-4 inches of rain in tottal from the system which isn't bad.
The center did pass near his area, but the center wasn't where the strong winds were. They were well east of him.
