Sky is the limit (well maybe cat 4 is the limit, if he becomes a 5 I will be VERY shocked)....Ill say a 3.

Cat 3... but I'm afraid that's conservative. If there ever was a July storm that could be a 4, this would be it.

I say Cat 3, 125 mph. However I don't rule out Cat 4.

he was implying 110-115 mph winds...
as opposed to strong cat 3 with 125-130mph

I understand. You know it could peak at cat 3/4 but come in as a 2, much like Lily in 2002. You never know what could happen.

I don't see it as more than a Cat. 2, max - I think it will have to play with too much land (Cuba). If it just clips the western tip of Cuba, then I may have to amend that.

hitting Cuba as a cat 5, then landfall in Pensacola as a minimal cat 4.

I think it depends on where the storm tracks. If it gets into the central or western gulf, it will be over hotter water for a lot longer. The waters are much cooler off of northwest Florida, which would hinder intensification.<P>A landfall on the upper Texas coast could potentially be a 4, but probably not on the Florida panhandle.

Cat 3 definitely

At least a Cat 3, probably high end, and maybe Cat 4. Landfall a Cat 3.
