Cuban Mountain Ranges
Anyone out there have a good map showing the mountain ranges. I am hoping that Dennis is going directly over them.

You can do a search under Google images for "Cuba relief map." There are fairly tall mountains on the eastern end of Cuba, and some medium sized peaks in central cuba. But the western half of Cuba is as flat as a board. Of course, land always takes some steam out of a 'cane, but the amount of time over land also comes into play. For example, if Dennis was to move across Cuba at a pretty good clip, it would not lose as much steam as if it got hung up over the land for several hours. And while Cuba will undoubtedly take some intensity out of the storm, also keep in mind that the waters just to the south and north of Cuba are *extremely* warm, and therefore very condusive to rapid redevelopment. I imagine it is all going to come down to *where* Dennis crosses Cuba and how quickly.
