NO, but last year Miami Dade County received $30 million in FEMA funds while there are still homes up here oin Palm Beach County and North of here with blue tarps remaining.
A TS Warning means that the Miami Dade Scammers will have another chance to feast on federal funds!

Well, thank you very much for putting all of us in a risk. Just ask the people in Cindy's path (to include my parents who had tornados in NC today) what a TS can do. And there is no such thing as a bad warning. It alerts people to the potential for those specific conditions, and we here in Miami-Dade are likely to experience TS conditions tomorrow and Saturday. Yes, there are people who scam here, there are people who scam all over the country, but that doesn't mean that the NHC can risk people's safety because of it. Think twice before making such a comment, please.

Isn't it just "Dade county"?

Because Tropical Storm conditions are going to extend through Miami-Dade / east coast? Hmm, guess that's too much sense.

I didn't say it was Cindy herself, but that's fine - ask the people in LA and MS where she came onshore about the damage a TS can do.....

The current windfield doesn't even bring TS Winds close to the East coast though. Well into the west coast, but far away from the county line between Broward/Miami-Dade and Collier/Lee/Hendry.

Your out of your mind, look at the news, every station is saying it is going to give us tropical storm conditions, just because we don't live in Naples, doesn't mean we can't receive a tropical storm warning too.

The new GFS shows a N/NNW movement and then a hard left.

IMO The reason why they have Tropical Storm warnings for Dade county is because we have a VERY strong hurricane coming in the general direction of Florida right now. Im surprise that they didnt put up hurricane watches for the same area. Just think about this tomorrow if we wake up who ever does go to sleep tonight if the storm is still moving in our direction there will be tropical storm force winds in dade county. If it does wobble to the north it will be even worst. I just hope there is good surf on the SE Fl Coast I want to surf.

No? You sure? What if Dennis decides to actually hit in the Keys? Look up my mileage (I live basically at the point where the turnpike ends into US1) from Key West, Marathon, and Islamorada. According to the 11pm NHC advisory:

"HURRICANE FORCE WINDS EXTEND OUTWARD UP TO 50 MILES... 85 KM...
FROM THE CENTER...AND TROPICAL STORM FORCE WINDS EXTEND OUTWARD UP
TO 140 MILES...220 KM."

Now...I can make it to Islamorada within an hour driving-wise so I know it's 60 miles or less from me. Seems to me I would be in TS force winds. Now, if it hits down at Key West, potentially, no, I might not see winds, but would you want to take that chance? I doubt it. :D

a) that's IF it moves along the exact projected path

b) there may not be winds ON the SE coast, but there ARE winds in Miami-Dade County.

Thank ya for the map ;)

Max Mayfield said it would extend 150 miles, and Miami is 157 miles from that, so yes, Miami-Dade needs a TS warning.

A bit offtopic but wow. You live right in my backyard, as the outlet mall and the turnpike begins right there ...

Foladar - yeppers - I'm technically between Canal and Palm, on Kingman, but specifiying at the end of the turnpike is easier LOL :)
