Info for Keys/SW FL Evacuees

#1 Postby SeaBrz_FL » Fri Jul 08, 2005 5:30 pm

Aimed at tourists evacuating from the Keys or SW FL:

Orlando hotel rooms are just about full, but you should find a room as soon as possible because conditions on the peninusula are deterioriating. The NWS MLB office has already issued a high wind advisory for tomorrow (below) and high profile vehicles (RV's) are at greater risk.

East coast hotel vacancies are available and, if possible, please try to find a room south of Daytona since Panhandle evacuees may need the rooms north.

Best of luck to all ..

I don't think SW Florida has a need to evac. This thing is going to Havana and then to Pensacola.

For those evacuating from the Keys, all of the hotels are booked in Florida City. Personally, if they're looking at this from the Keys, i think they should be staying put.

I wouldn't say that... those right up against the water should probably evac as they are under a tropical storm warning. Just ask those up the coast about cindy and the damage she just did as a tropical storm. IF their local officials are calling for evac..they should. :)

I am just trying to prevent the rush on Orlando rooms that happened last year when Charlie threatened. This year there are even fewer rooms available.
