looks to be a double US landfall...FL and Gulf Coast...

Sort of, but Erin was further north. It shows emily coming in through the southwestern bahamas into the Dade/Broward Counties and then across into just north of Naples. I hope this doesn't occur for it could easily be the Disaster that we all dread. A Hurricane hitting a large metropolitan area.

Models are starting to suggest E will come in below DR...

Yes, we were spared last year. We really haven't had anything (rain from Irene in '99) since Andrew '92, in all honesty....

What is going on with the tropics? I am without power because of Dennis and am hearing that there may be another storm coming. Please feel me in on the latest. Just able to access a computer here at work and we are working off of generator power.

It is about 3 days from the Lesser Antilles... 4 days from Puerto Rico... 5 days from Hispanola... at least a week from the U.S. Should become Emily later today and could be a hurricane by the end of the week.

TD5 is 1000 miles east of the Lesser Antilles....its expected to slowly develope into a tropical storm and hurricane. Not sure about a US impact right now. But if it DID hit the US, it would be in 7-10 days. (it could recurve into the Atlantic, or hit Mexico too)

So the US is safe for about a week. After that, there could be a storm.
