Trough question?

#1 Postby dwg71 » Mon Jul 11, 2005 1:50 pm

How low would the trough have to dive to "pick up" #5 (i wont use emily, she's still gestating). Its approaching 30N, would 25N do it?

The general rule is it needs to get within 10 degrees to exert enough influnce to pull the system up. So the system would have to get to 15N in front (east) of the trough axis to get grabbed.

It looks like this trough is going to be way too far away to have any influence on 5.

Dennis may have a big role in where Emily ends up...if he doesn't get picked up in the westerly flow in 4 to 5 days...
