Once again... Cat. 5?
Last night, I asked the same question. I believe we had 52% say 'yes', 48% say 'no', with a total of near 100 votes.
SO! I ask the same question again tonight, under different circumstances. It seems the EWRC is nearly complete, and Emily is under more favorable conditions to strengthen. The 2 a.m. advisory states that the winds are "AT LEAST 135 mph."
So here it is again. Cat. 5?
Or not?

This system has the potential to become a Cat 5 Hurricane in the next day or so as it moves West Northwest over the Caribbean Sea...

That would be a "yes" vote, actually.
How so? Cause I say I won't be suprised if reached Cat 5?

I'm gonna stay with what I said last night and think emily will get cat 5 (if not she'll make a good run for it) her eye has popped even bigger and she's taking a long hot bath. She's gonna show us how a woman should never be underestimated at surprising others.
OK so I give em personalities... but they sure do seem to have em sometimes!

I believe I read on this forum a week or so ago that Hurricane Dennis became the strongest hurricane on record in the month of July at 150mph. As of this morning Emily is currently at 145mph. If Emily has a chance at cat 5 that sure was a short run for a record, 150 years to make a week to fall.
