You can say what you about how Emily is not as strong
as she was once before but she still has a classic look to her. She also has grown in size. I think lower or even middle Texas will still feel some stiff winds and heavy rains even if she makes landfall in Mexico as projected.

Emily has grown, but that was to be expected.

She might had lost punch going over the Yucatan but she is in the Gulf now and anything can happen! I suspect she will be a Cat 3 when she hits. Of course I could be wrong.

She is looking better with colder cloudtops starting to wrap around the 60 mile eye. The eye must start contracting to see real deepening. She needs to work at it, but it is very possible .

I can't remember for sure but wasn't it Isidore a few years back that reallly increased in size after it affected the Yucatan area? I know it wasn't very strong when it hit the U.S. but it seems like it was extremely large in size.

Emily enhanced the tradewind all the way over to the east Gulf here today. There were even disturbed puffs of clouds.

Just an amateur here, but it seems like she is beginning to contract her eye a bit on the last visible and on the IR it appears that colder cloud tops are filling up a new CDO. Will be interesting too watch what happens tonight.
