Gulf of Mexico Tropical Summary - GUTS IN on August 2, 2005

<img src="http://www.diamondheadweather.com/guts20050802.jpg">

The Gulf of Mexico is rather quiet, tropically speaking. There is an upper
level low spining near Brownsville, Texas.

A weak surface low and trough is over the SE Louisiana/MS/Ala area, and
is producing showers and thunderstorms in the area.

A ridge persists over eastern Florida.

I do not expect tropical development in the Gulf of Mexico in the next
two to three days.
